The power of directing our thoughts with our heart

I’ve been paying close attention to my dreams ever since a little girl, and kept a dream journal already at a young age. I even built up a small dream book library in my room in Sweden. It wasn’t until my early 20s though that I had my first guidance dream – with a voice conveying a message in the dream.

I still remember the dream very clearly. I was breathing under water, and I was doing just fine. In fact, I remember thinking how amazing it was that I could actually breathe under water. Then I suddenly realized where I was – and couldn’t breathe anymore.

A voice told me: “Your brain cannot differentiate between a “real” experience and a “perceived” experience. The brain will interpret any experience the way you think of it. If you think  and feel that you can breathe under water, you can breathe under water.

It was such a symbolic and powerful dream. I wish I knew what had happened in my life leading up to this dream. My guess is that I had gone through something difficult and powered through it – and then lost my faith somehow.

I keep this dream in a sacred place in my heart, because it reminds me how important it is to keep my thoughts focused on what I want, and what I want to believe in.

We can achieve a lot more than we think – when we direct our thoughts with our hearts! 🙂
