Practice – The Art of Dedication, Devotion & Patience

Practice, practice, practice! Practice is everything. Whether it’s the best tennis player, piano concert performer, or the most brilliant scientist in the world, one thing is for sure – incredible practice has not already taken place in that person’s life – but still is.

Developing a continuous practice is also the most powerful step we can take on our journey of spiritual growth. If we wish to learn how to master our mind, it is not enough to practice every now and then. To master something so vast, a dedicated practice is not only recommended – it is required.

To do yoga every now and then, or to meditate when we feel like it, is not a continuous practice, and this is not how we fine tune our inner qualities of dedication, devotion and patience.

In order to grow spiritually, and ultimately achieve freedom from your mind, you first need to nurture your inner qualities. This is how you will learn to see yourself blossom with joy.

When we follow a dedicated practice, in divine devotion, and learn to live in loving patience, the world is our oyster. We are on the path to liberation – freedom from our mind!

The second Yoga Sutra says: “The restraint of the modifications of the mind-stuff is Yoga”. (p. 3). Patanjali further explains “If you feel bound, you are bound. If you feel liberated, you are liberated. Things outside neither bind nor liberate you; only your attitude toward them does that.” (p. 5).
