If we channel our thoughts in a specific direction – with our full devoted attention, we have the ability to change how we feel.
In our dreamworld, where there are far less distractions than in daily life, we can take this a bit further – we not only have the power to change how we feel – but we can also change an actual situation in less than a nanosecond!
Chances are if you are working on changing your thoughts in a dream, you may be dreaming – and if you know you’re dreaming – you’re having a lucid dream! A lucid dream comes with golden opportunities for enhancing our awareness, practicing mindfulness, and channel our focused attention on desired goals.
Although you can’t control all elements in a lucid dream, there is plenty of room for exercising creative thinking!
Maybe try changing the color of the sky from blue to pink, create a computer out of thin air, decorate your dinner table with delicious colorful foods, enter a beautiful temple, swim with the dolphins, dance with fairies – the world is your oyster!
If you are interested in practicing more lucid dreaming, it starts with conscious awareness in daily life! Pay attention to what you’re doing, experiencing, and what is happening around you – at all times. This is a great way of becoming more mindful, so it really is a win-win! If you notice something that seems slightly off, you may be dreaming! Do a little test – maybe take a giant step and see if you lift off, or do a little happy spin, and see if you keep spinning!
